The management of users and guests on your Danalock account is done through the web app https://my.danalock.com
Guests and user can either be invited or created in your account.
Invited guest vs. created guest
On my.danalock.com when you add users to your account you have the option between "Invite user" and "Create user".
It is important to know the difference between the two.
Invite user
The one for most standard situations
An invited user would in most cases be the option to choose when you want to add more users to your lock, like your family, visitors, or cleaners.
You will invite the user through their e-mail address and they will have their own Danalock account.
Once invited they will be able to operate the lock from the Danalock mobile app.
Create user
For special situations
A created user is for when the user needs to install locks or accessory devices on the account. A created user also does not have a Danalock account of their own and the admin/owner of the account controls the user's password.
This type of user is also needed if the user needs to be able to set pin codes through the Danalock apps.
You still use an e-mail as the username, but the created user can't be invited to other Danalock accounts. We therefore recommend that only use e-mails that you own in your company and never a private e-mail.
You could if needed, simply make up an e-mail address on your domain for the user, instead of using their private mail like gmail or hotmail.
If the user is not suppose to be invited to any other Danalock accounts, then you can use their private e-mail address - like their company personal e-mail
(your-name@your-company.com)
User roles
Once invited you can change the role of the user.
The standard role only allows the user to lock and unlock.
However the Installer and Administrator roles can enroll new devices on the account, and the Administrator role can further manage users, groups, and access rights on the account.
Attention:
Only if the Installer or Administrator was added as a created user, as mentioned in the section above, will the user be able to add devices on the account through the Danalock mobile apps.
Role: Standard user
As an invited user with the role of a standard user, the user will be able to:
Lock and unlock through the Danalock mobile apps.
Do remote locking and unlocking via the Danalock mobile apps, if the lock is paired with a Danabridge and the permission is set on the user in the web app my.danalock.com.
Role: Standard user
A created user with the role of a standard user, doesn't bring any extra options. We therefore don't recommend doing this.
Role: Administrator
As an invited user with the role of administrator, the user will be able to:
Manage the account on my.danalock.com, including users, groups, and access rights.
Set lock settings in the Danalock mobile apps.
Set PIN codes on locks on my.danalock.com, not in the Danalock mobile apps.
(only when paired with a Danabridge)
Do remote locking and unlocking via the Danalock mobile apps, if the lock is paired with a Danabridge.
Role: Administrator
As a create user with the role of administrator, the user will be able to:
All that the invited user administrator can do
Add locks and accessory devices to the account.
Set PIN codes through the Danalock mobile apps.
Role: Installer
An invited user with the role of installer, doesn't really make sense as this will only limit an installer to almost not being able to do anything - not even install devices on the account.
We recommend that installers are made as created users instead.
Role: Installer
As an invited user with the role of Installer, the user will be able to:
